Join triathlon coach Brent Detta for a coached group open water session, which focuses on open water skills such as sighting, drafting and other skills to take your triathlon swim to the next level.
Our weekly ride is now Wednesday Group Ride, offering the traditional time trial for speed and a no-drop social ride (40 minutes) for confidence and camaraderie. Meet us Wednesdays at 6 PM at the North Parking Lot of Lake Padden for an out-and-back route along Lake Samish. No club membership required—just sign a waiver before your first ride. Bring a roadworthy bike, helmet, and basic repair gear. Plus, join an optional brick run after the ride.
This is the swim that started it all, 30ish minute loop of the north part of Lake Whatcom, it is an aerobic swim that loops around the arm of the lake, regrouping twice. You can also swim out and back if you don't want to do the loop. Great way to start off your Thursday mornings with friends!
Whether you're a past member, a current member, or considering joining - learn more about our club, meet the board, and hear what we have planned. We’ll also talk about how we’re improving member connections and offerings.

Our mid-season social will be a chance to connect with fellow triathletes as we gear up for the Lake Padden and Lake Whatcom triathlons. It’s a great time to share training stories, prep tips, and support each other through the peak of the season.
We’re planning an end-of-season social to bring everyone together and celebrate the 2025 triathlon season. This will be a chance to connect with fellow triathletes, share stories from the year, and recognize all the hard work, training, and racing that went into the season. Whether you raced every weekend or supported from the sidelines, we’d love to see you there.
Are you new to triathlon and curious what this group has to offer? We'd love to meet you! Are you a long-time member and excited to geek out with all your friends? Don’t miss this opportunity - you'll have a chance to learn about membership in the club this year including events, training, workshop. We will also have some sponsor swag to share!
Join us on Thursday, April 24th from 6:00–7:30 PM at Prime Sports Institute for a special Triathlon Coaches Clinic hosted by the Bellingham Triathlon Club. This free event includes a short facility tour, a few short talks from local coaches (including a sports nutrition chat with local RD), and time to connect with fellow athletes. Open to all – club members, Prime clients, and the tri-curious!
Get race-day ready with our hands-on Transition Clinic designed to help you feel confident and prepared heading into the Lake Padden and Lake Whatcom Triathlons! We'll walk through how to set up your transition area, practice smooth swim-to-bike and bike-to-run transitions, and share pro tips to save time and reduce stress. Perfect for beginners or anyone looking to sharpen their skills.
